Rumen "Sali" Shopov

Color My World This Berkeley musician is a Bulgarian-born Turkish Rom, or gypsy. Shopov is the leader and vocalist of the Balkan band Okestar Sali. In addition to singing, he plays the tamboura, a mandolin-like instrument, as well as percussive instruments like the dumbek and the tupan.
