Two men were stabbed less than two blocks away from the UC Berkeley campus last Friday morning.
An email just received from UC Police Chief Mitchell Celaya reads:
"On Thursday, December 30, 2010 at approximately 1:15 a.m. two male victims and a few friends, affiliation unknown, were walking on Telegraph from Larry Blake's. At the intersection of Durant and Telegraph one of the victims was approached by an unknown male who stabbed him in the head. One of victim’s male companions intervened and was stabbed in the lower back by the suspect. The suspect and two companions fled the scene on foot."
Berkeley Police Department officers "responded to the scene and searched the area for the suspect and his companions but were unable to locate them." Berkeley Fire Department personnel "treated the victims at the scene for non-lifethreatening injuries and transported them to a local trauma center.
"The suspect was described as an Asian or Filipino male in his 20s, 5’7” in height, 180 lbs., with a heavy build, a bald head, brown eyes, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, and dark pants. He was in the company of possibly two other Asian or Filipino males in their 20s, all wearing black clothing. If you have any information about this crime, please contact the Berkeley Police Department at 510-981-5900."
