Even if you don't know what a tincture is, or what it could possibly be used for, you can count on Homestead Apothecary to teach you. Babely owner Nic Weinstein has had a long history of spearheading programs to educate people on all the useful herbs that surround us. And, since opening his cute, terrarium-filled boutique in Temescal Alley last March, Weinstein has been doing just that: He's led workshops on Western herbalism, honey-based salve-making, the many surprising uses of seaweed, and the medicinal properties of (non-magic) mushrooms. While the space is a definite go-to for the dedicated herbal community, its most special attribute is its welcoming environment to those whose curiosity might outweigh their knowledge.
