Om:10

A celebration of the ten years and two hundred releases sired by SF’s preeminent upstart dance and electronic label, Om:10 pretty much speaks for itself. Om has the mix-CD business down pat, and this birthday party is certainly no different. Offering an ample three discs — split into House, Downtempo, and Classics — the set spans a full array of electronic party music, from Marques Wyatt’s deep house to the backpacker hip-hop beat of People Under the Stairs. The venerated guest list also includes newly minted 2005 triumphs, most notably Kaskade’s chart-topping “Everything.” Recent newcomers Colette, Colossus, and the Greenskeepers mix in the downtempo portion. Memorable solo singles by Om mainstays Mark Farina and J Boogie stand out. And for those who were there in the beginning, you get a raw cut of Blue Boy’s hit “Remember Me,” a track that first snuck into Mushroom Jazz, the Om compilation that helped start it all.
