It’s a formidable walk from the front gates of UC Berkeley, but the
ever-changing photography exhibits in North Gate Hall, home of the
Graduate School of Journalism, are well worth the hike. North Gate’s
hallway is often curated to honor photojournalists who travel into
areas of conflict and uncertainty, and the images are always arresting.
Exhibitions over the years have included Kashmir, the
aftermath of 9/11, and the Vietnam War. Check the
school’s web site for lecture events by the photographers, and come
away a little more connected to humanity.
