Picante

One step inside Picante and there’s no question that it’s family-friendly. Visit often enough and you’ll see everything from Little League teams to new parents going to a real restaurant for the first time with a new baby. Toddlers have a field day checking out their peers and comparing professional eating skills. While dinnertime at Picante can be characterized as mayhem, happy parents can sip margaritas or aguas frescas and devour delicious Mexican food while their little ones are distracted. Some “family” restaurants may compromise on quality, but Picante doesn’t skimp. The place uses Niman Ranch meats and serves a homemade mole sauce that will make a believer out of most infidels. Parking can sometimes be a pain, and the line often stretches out the door. But if you can keep your family sane for the wait, you’ll have a new restaurant in rotation.
