It’s bad news for the University of California, but good news for thousands who went there. According to the Contra Costa Times, UC officials have finally complied with a court decision that the university decision to raise fees in 2003 was illegal, and have dispersed refunds to some 35,000 students and former students. The check will average out to between $200 and $300, putting UC in the hole for $42 million. Consider it a stimulus check.
