When outgoing University of California President Robert Dynes moved out of his crumbling mansion in the Kensington hills, incoming President Mark Yudof decided he’d rather live somewhere else. Since then, UC officials have pondered over what to do with the aging grounds, which have served as a public garden and spot to host fundraisers and other high-profile university parties. According to the Contra Costa Times, the building has suffered so much water and structural damage over the years that repairs will cost an estimated $10 million.
