.Feds Want Conviction, Not Deal, on Cosco Busan Crash

Fleet Management Ltd., the company that owns the ship that smashed into the Bay Bridge, spilled 50,000 gallons of oil, and killed thousands of birds, wants to plead no contest to the federal charges leveled against it. But prosecutors have asked the judge to reject the offer, saying they want an admission of guilt, not just a tacit acceptance of punishment. If the judge agrees to reject the deal, the trial will start on November 17.
