.Blackhawk Golf Course Drills for Water

As the drought takes a bite out of the Bay Area’s golf courses, whose managers have to cut water use by almost thirty percent, officials with Danville’s Blackhawk Country Club decided to drill for groundwater to make up the difference. According to the Chron, surveyors scouted the property for the most promising sites, and a crew hauled out a massive drilling rig and punched two holes one thousand feet into the earth. What did they find for the $50,000 they spent? Not a drop. Looks like it’s back to greywater for the East Bay’s swankiest tee spot.
