The home team’s out of the race, the fantasy team is failing and there are three months left of baseball to play. (Just two for the A’s). It’s an opportunity by gum, to become a baseball fan for the rest of the season. Every division (but ours) has a great race ahead. This is a defining moment fans, if you love baseball you should still be excited. Take a week or so to mourn lost opportunities but then if you can’t get fired up about five whiz bang division chases, friend, you may as well watch football players who aren’t even going to make the team fight, sweat and be asked to sing their alma mater’s fight songs.
