“Clickety Clack” is a six-minute, super-chill dub that saunters along so patiently you get the sense time stalls while it’s playing. The track’s origins are not so straightforward, so pay attention. First of all, you got San Francisco jam band Vinyl, which is ostensibly a funk band that can’t stay away from jazz, R&B, and reggae. Then you got Bay Area producer duo the Rondo Brothers, who have worked with Dan the Automator. The Rondo Brothers pored over hours of previously unreleased studio recordings from Vinyl, then took what they wanted and remixed it for a new album, Fogshack Music Vol. 1. “Clickety Clack” is one of eight groovy results.
